Last week, Tego and Rubrik co-hosted Save the Data, a one-of-a-kind event that gave attendees a unique opportunity to understand how to recover from a ransomware attack. During the event, Rubrik presented a simulated ransomware attack while attendees played the role of someone in the C-suite tasked with recovering from the incident.
“There are a few situations in life that are difficult to explain if you’ve never been through them and a cyber incident is a good example of that,” said Brian Williams, Sales Engineer at Rubrik, who conducted the simulated ransomware attack exercise with attendees. “There are a lot of lessons learned and changes teams make after the fact, so I feel very strongly that attending a Save The Data event can offer that experience without having to actually live through the nightmare first.”
After the simulation, Greg Manson, Vice President of Tego Advisory Services, stressed the importance of organizations thoroughly testing their Disaster Recovery (DR) and Incident Response (IR) plans. He then provided a high-level overview, explaining that the testing is grounded in probable attack scenarios identified through the use of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
